What Day is It?

It’s only been like, 3 weeks being stuck at home, but it feels like an eternity. I honestly don’t remember what it was like to shower, get dressed, throw on some makeup, drive to work and be a fully functional social person at the office. Hell, I don’t even know if I remember how to get to my office anymore. (I’m joking.) But really: life has been weird and wild these last 3 weeks or so.

As you know, I’ve been working from home. I live alone, so my only interaction is when I put some real clothes on to do a conference video call or a virtual happy hour with my friends. (Those of which are happening more and more frequently…we’re all going crazy LOL.) …I do FaceTime my parents and siblings on a regular basis, but there is no requirement to get dressed or look nice for them haha.

Overall, I feel okay. I’m not like, overly happy or feeling optimistic, but I can’t complain. All of my friends and family are taking care of themselves. Thankfully, the outbreak hasn’t been too bad up here in Maine. (I have a lot of friends in LA and NYC though – I worry about them, but they’re being smart and staying home. …WHICH EVERYONE SHOULD BE DOING RIGHT NOW!)

It’s weird though; my main sources of entertainment and enjoyment are said virtual happy hours (have you heard of the House Party app? If not, download it now. It’s so fun!) and all the food I’ve been eating when I’m bingeing some show on Netflix. There was a question going around at the start of this stay at home movement: Are we coming out of this ripped and in the best shape of our lives, or are we gaining 50lbs and developing a drinking problem? …I think the later is true for me sadly haha. I feel like at least every day I’m finding a reason to have a glass of wine…and I can’t seem to stay out of the kitchen. Every 20 minutes I’m up, wandering around and looking for snacks. (As you can tell, my work productivity isn’t the best ha.)

I’m trying though. I initially had bought all this healthy food and was planning on doing yoga everyday and going for long walks…how quickly that changed lol. I am still trying to get out of the house and get some fresh air, but those early morning exercise sessions are a no go..

I did want to share some items that have been making this stay at home ordeal much better:

  • I hate being that girl, but these Ugg slippers are everything.
  • I love baths. If you’re a bath person, you need this bathtub caddy. It’s got a spot for your wine, your book or iPad and plenty of room for snacks!
  • And, because I KNOW I’m not the only one stressing out about my hair, this root touch up kit has been a life saver! (And the price is a steal too!)
